Charter school teacher charged with sex crimes against student | News
OKLAHOMA CITY – A metro is teacher facing serious accusations of sexual misconduct.
Pascal Jones, a teacher at Marcus Garvey Charter School, has been charged with multiple counts; he’s accused of having sexual relations with a teenage student.
Jones faces 25 criminal counts for the alleged lewd acts.
The alleged crimes had been going on for years but charges were just filed this week after a lengthy investigation.
Jones is now accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a former student at the school dating back to 2010, when the alleged victim was only 13-years-old.
Court records detail how all the sex crimes occurred during school hours inside Jones’ classroom.
The affidavit states Jones “would lock the door and these sex acts would occur.”
The victim told police, over the last few years, the illegal sexual encounters with Jones occurred more than 100 times.
The victim’s mother eventually transferred the girl to another school, Crooked Oak, after learning of the allegations, but even then Jones is accused of harassing the victim.
Court records detail that “after the (victim) came out about the allegations, Jones made several calls to get her to recant.”
On one occasion Jones allegedly showed up at Crooked Oak, then quickly fled when a police officer confronted Jones about the alleged stalking.
We showed up to Jones’ home in Edmond but no one answered.
None of his neighbors wanted to talk about the case, nor would school leaders at the charter school where the alleged crimes took place.
Prosecutors did look into whether the school properly protected the victim.
The victim said she first spoke with school staff about the alleged crimes back in 2011.
The court records did not reach any conclusion about whether the school leaders handled the issue appropriately or not.
