Family battling cancer sinks slam dunk | Health
OKLAHOMA CITY – Heath Kufahl is the first fan this season to make the MidFirst Bank half-court shot at an OKC Thunder game.
He sank the money shot at the Lakers vs. Thunder game Tuesday night, winning $20,000.
Kufahl is a basketball and volleyball coach at Christian Heritage Academy.
“We have some financial needs and the Lord knows that and he works in mysterious ways,” Heath said.
“He could have practiced it a million times and it didn’t matter,” Jenni said. “It was that the Lord wanted him to make the shot.”
Jenni is in her seventh treatment of chemotherapy.
In the next two months, they’ll find out if the cancer is in remission.
This miracle shot adds even more to the blessings that have gotten them through the last few months.
“People have walked the road with us, sacrificed their time; it’s been amazing,” Jenni said.
So while some are calling this a lucky shot, the Kufahls are calling it an answer to prayer.
“Most of the people we got text messages from took the story back to where it belongs,” Kufahl said. “And that’s that; God is good.”
