Cab driver attacked with knife overnight

It was a dangerous night for a local cab driver when he was attacked and left with his throat cut in an Oklahoma City parking lot.

Police in Warr Acres say it all started when a fight erupted between a man and the driver of a yellow cab in the parking lot of a Long John Silver's in the 5700 block of N.W. Expressway.

Officers say they do not know why the two men began arguing around midnight, but at some point the suspect began cutting at the cab driver's throat.

The suspect left the driver in the parking lot and fled in his cab.

Authorities say they found the suspect's knife blade, cell phone and one shoe near the scene of the stabbing.

They were able to track the stolen cab through the GPS unit across town.

It was found still running near Lake Hefner.

Reports indicate that the suspect tried to run the cab into the lake before fleeing on foot.

The driver of the cab was rushed to the hospital, but there is no word on his condition.

Meanwhile, officers are still searching for that suspect.
