Two suspected thieves caught on camera | Crime
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police are asking for the public’s help catching two suspected thieves.
Earlier this month a man and woman tried to burglarize a business near S.W. 89th St. and Penn.
The suspects caught on camera were pretending to be customers.
“They had some silver spoons they said they wanted to sell,” store clerk Sam Limbocker said.
A few minutes later, the man kissed the woman goodbye.
“About halfway through the transaction, the male individual excused himself to go to the restroom,” Limbocker said.
Once in the restroom, the man lifted himself up into the ceiling tiles and climbed into the back of the business when Sam heard a loud noise.
“I went to investigate and went to the back and he had fallen though the ceiling tiles,” Limbocker said.
“This startles him and he goes back through the ceiling and escapes the business,” Oklahoma City police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.
Police said the male suspect escaped the business through the ceiling and drove away, leaving the woman behind, as well as a huge mess.
“When he was scrambling to get out of the store, you could see his foot as he was breaking tile after tile,” Limbocker said.
Realizing what happened, the woman grabbed her spoons and also fled on foot.
Police said they now hope someone helps identify the two suspected crooks.
“Often times we release video it may be grainy or not good quality,” Wardlow said. “This is very good quality video. Anyone knows them would obviously recognize them.”
“It happened very fast,” Limbocker said. “It could’ve been much worse. I’m glad no one was hurt and hopefully they’ll get these two off the streets.”
Anyone with information on the two suspects can contact Oklahoma City police.
