Grinch steals Christmas trees from Belle Isle yard | Crime
OKLAHOMA CITY — ‘Tis the season for spreading cheer.
One Oklahoma City homeowner learned an important lesson about the importance of securing your Christmas decorations the hard way.
Bevan Graybill was pulling into her driveway Monday when she noticed something missing from her front flower bed.
She lives in a nice neighborhood in the Belle Isle area, just west of Penn Square Mall.
Graybill’s two, four, and six-foot tall decorative Christmas trees had been stolen in broad daylight while she was at work.
“Well, I was shocked and I was angry,” she said. “I’m not going to bother the police with something like this. The most outrageous thing is that it’s Christmas. Where’s the Christmas spirit?”
Graybill bought the trees last year for $50.
“I’ve had a lot of blessings in my life and if someone is stealing Christmas decorations then they’re probably struggling with other things,” Graybill said. “I hope they find happiness this Christmas season in something other than stealing and trespassing.”
Graybill will not replace the trees but is considering winding some lights around her front trees.
