Devon accepts Innovation Award | Business

Officials with Devon Energy recently accepted an award that honors their use of safety and creativity in the work place.

Devon was awarded the 2012 Innovation Award from Security Technology Executive magazine.

The award recognizes sophisticated security systems integrated into the design, construction and operation of the Devon Energy Center.

“We are pleased and proud to be recognized for our work to create a secure headquarters for our company, a safe workplace for our employees and a welcoming destination for visitors,” said Kent Chrisman, director of security for the energy giant. “It has truly been a team effort, involving the project’s developers, designers and builders, working in collaboration with Devon’s management team and our security integration partner, Dowley Security Systems.”

Candidates for the award were judged on project scope and scale, stakeholders and collaboration involved, technologies applied, complexities, challenges and solutions.

Devon combined 12 different security-related technologies to create an integrated security system for all of the company's facilities across North America.
