Blind Oklahomans take tour of art museum | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Blind Oklahomans were given the opportunity of a lifetime on Sunday.
Organizers at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum opened the doors for the "white glove" tour.
Dozens of blind citizens were given gloves so they could experience the exhibits and art during the tour.
Ralph Haney with Guide Dogs for the Blind said, "Well there are visuals but they are explained to us and we see them in our minds. Also, they have given us gloves that we wear and that lets us touch not all of them, but a lot of them. We can see with our hands; we feel the sculptures and it tells us what it looks like and the texture and all and that's cool."
Haney says opportunities like this one are a great way for the blind community to enjoy life.
