EDMOND, Okla. – An Edmond woman is thankful for some quick detective work from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
They were able to track down a precious and sentimental piece of jewelry a thief stole from her home.
Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel had a wedding ring to return to Julie Riggins and her husband, John.
“Far too often we don’t get to see today in cases of theft; especially the theft of a ring,” Sheriff Whetsel said.
Julie’s $8,500 ring was stolen from their Edmond home and pawned at an Oklahoma City pawn shop.
With some good detective work, investigators were able to run down the ring and the suspect.
Christopher Binkley, 20, had been in the Riggans’ home working as an exterminator.
He now faces grand larceny charges.
Julie said, in her eyes, the $8,500 piece of jewelry is priceless.
