Drag Boat Races brings thrills to racing fans | Community Spirit

Speed thrills. Come out to the Oklahoma Nationals Drag Boat races along the Oklahoma River this weekend. Bring your family and see some of the fastest boats in the world.John Haas, (pictured)  a 30 year veteran of drag boat racing says some drag boats racing this weekend could hit speeds of nearly 240 miles per hour. Haas, a drag boat racer from Michigan, races in the Top Fuel Hydro class or TFH. That means the engine runs on a nitro/methane based fuel combination and the engine of his boat will generate about 8000 horsepower.

There will be plenty of fun for the whole family and that includes good food like pizza from race sponsor, Little Caesars Pizza as well as other goodies, music and fun. Bob Moore Chopper 4 pilot Jim Gardner will be out at the races Saturday, June 12th from 11a till 1pm.
