About Us

Ours is a full service estate liquidation and personal property appraisal firm based in central Oklahoma. We’re experts in managing estate liquidations and helping our clients with their personal property appraisal needs.

Although we’re headquartered in Oklahoma City, we work full time writing personal property appraisals and preparing professionally conducted estate sales all across Oklahoma.

Closing a home or business can be exhausting and even traumatic. We strive to minimize our clients’ stress throughout the entire process. We are experts in managing estate liquidations. We offer efficient, professional services without forgetting the needs of our clients.

Your home need not be filled with antiques, artwork, vintage automobiles, rare firearms, fine jewelry and other expensive assets in order for a sale to be successful. We routinely liquidate estates of all types and sizes.

We are proud to offer professional appraisal services for your fine art, antiques and residential contents.

We conduct appraisals for insurance purposes, probate, marital dissolution, financial planning, charitable donation, equitable distribution, business liquidation, bankruptcy, damage claims and more.  Complete fee schedule available upon request.

All of our appraisal reports are written to conform with both ISA and USPAP standards. We also offer a somewhat less expensive VAV (verbal approximation of value) service for those who may simply want to know the background and/or fair market value of their personal property. (Hourly rate with two hour minimum.)

Additional Information

Mr. McNeil is an ISA Board Certified Appraiser of Personal Property (CAPP).
The CAPP designation is the highest professional designation conferred by The International Society of Appraisers.

The CAPP designation is attained by successful completion of a comprehensive program which emphasizes the theoretical, legal and ethical and aspects of appraising. Also required of all CAPP candidates are Board-approved appraisal reports for peer review, Board-approved professional development activities, and the successful completion of a comprehensive Board examination.

Only one-tenth or so of ISA’s membership has attained the coveted “CAPP” designation. (n.b.: All of ISA’s education programs are fully accredited through The University of Maryland.)

Although a generalist, Mr. McNeil specializes in period silver, especially British and Continental wares of the 18th and 19th centuries. He is an active collector of both period Southern silver and English silver. He also holds a strong interest in Georgian furniture, Chinese Export porcelain, art glass of the mid-20th century and American art pottery of the early 20th century.

He is a native of Oklahoma, and holds his baccalaureate in American History (minor in theology) from Newman (formerly Sacred Heart) University, from which he was graduated magna cum laude. While in undergraduate school, he was an active member of Pi Gamma Mu, L’Alliance Française and The Newman Society.

He taught while abroad for four years (in the Republic of South Korea, through a cultural exchange program). Mr. McNeil taught English as a second language, and also tutored students in American history.

He worked for and subsequently owned a successful antiques business in Oklahoma City for seven years after his return to the United States in 1993; however, he sold this business in February 2000. Since that time, he has worked exclusively in the personal property appraisal, estate liquidation and brokerage professions.

He completed the basic ISA accreditation course in Hartford, CT, in 2000. He then continued on with his ISA pathway course work in Antiques & Residential Contents (Chicago, IL, 2000) and, finally, Fine Arts (San Antonio, TX, 2001).

He completed his board examination, full peer review and remaining course work for full ISA certification in late 2001/early 2002. He was granted full certification (including the right to use the “ISA CAPP” appellation) at the annual ISA conference in Seattle in April 2002. (n.b.: The average ISA member takes approximately 12 years of general membership before attempting to attain the CAPP designation.)

Like all ISA members (both accredited and certified), Mr. McNeil must submit significant numbers of both officially recognized PDC’s (professional development credits) and logged appraisal hours every five years in order to maintain his current designation. He completed his Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) re-qualification course in Chicago in October 2010, and will re-qualify for the CAPP designation in 2012.

He has attended many of ISA’s annual conferences since 2000, including San Antonio, Seattle, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Toronto and Nashville. He was himself a presenter at the Chicago conference in 2005, and will be a presenter at conference in 2012.  He was the recipient of ISA’s Marketing Award in Nashville in 2011.

Testimonials

I want to express my thanks to you for the excellent estate sale you conducted on the our behalf . . . I would be especially pleased to offer my recommendations to future clients should you deem my recommendation useful. --- The Honorable Dr. Edward Perkins, former United States Amba
Matt handled the liquidation of my late mother’s estate in Oklahoma City and was most professional and helpful. We were under serious time constraints, as my father had just passed away weeks before. Matt handled the sale wonderfully in spite of all the stressors. He cheerfully helped us through each little snag that came up. We were and are very grateful for all his help. --- Mrs. Judith A. Beckman of Marana, Arizona
The nightmare on 58th Street became a dream come true when we were referred to Matt and his staff to help us liquidate an estate.
